The Polish Ekstraklasa has eighteen clubs and 306 matches a season. It’s a steady league: its goals average barely moves, 1-1 is the most common score by a wide margin, and matches are spread from Friday to Monday. The table below holds the league’s tips from an outside prediction provider, shown as published.
The figures use 1,755 matches since the start of 2021, from public results files. They cover goals and results, not corners or cards.

More Predictions
The league in numbers
| Measure | Poland | Average of 18 European leagues |
|---|---|---|
| Goals a match | 2.65 | 2.69 |
| Over 2.5 goals | 48.5% | 50.7% |
| Both teams scored | 53.8% | 52.7% |
| Goalless draws | 7.6% | about 7% |
| Home win | 43.8% | 43.5% |
| Draw | 27.4% | 26.2% |
| Away win | 28.8% | 30.3% |
Nearly everything is close to the European average. Matches averaged 2.65 goals, both teams scored in 53.8% and 27.4% were drawn. The league doesn’t have a hook the way Norway or Brazil does. That makes it a good league for learning how a typical match behaves.
1-1 stands out
The most common score was 1-1, at 13.4% of matches, one in every 7.5. After it came 1-0 (10.0%), 2-1 (9.3%), 0-1 (7.7%) and 0-0 (7.6%).
1-1 being that far ahead of the rest is the Ekstraklasa’s signature. It’s a higher share than in the Bundesliga, where 1-1 ran at 9.2% in recent seasons. It also fits with a draw rate that’s a little above average.
A steady goals average
Season by season the average ran 2.67, 2.48, 2.69, 2.75 and 2.74. That’s a spread of just over a quarter of a goal, which is narrower than in Argentina, Finland or Denmark. The current season is at 2.96, but only 97 matches are in.
Draws ran 27.5%, 26.5%, 30.4%, 25.2% and 27.8% over the five full seasons, and then 22.7% so far in the new season.
Home and away
Home teams won 43.8% of matches and away teams 28.8%. The home side scored 1.49 goals a match and the visitors 1.15. The home side was blanked in 22.9% of matches and the away side in 30.8%.
The home win rate has crept up. Over six seasons it ran 44.1%, 42.2%, 43.5%, 44.8%, 45.1% and 46.4%, the last one in progress.
Covers
Home win or draw (1X) landed in 71.2% of matches, away win or draw (X2) in 56.2% and either team winning (12) in 72.6%. With a high draw rate, 12 is a weaker cover here than in Norway or Sweden, where it’s close to 78%.
Both teams scoring
BTTS landed in 53.8%. The home side scored in 77.1% of matches (100% minus 22.9%) and the away side in 69.2%. Multiplying gives 53.4%, close to the real rate. It’s an unremarkable BTTS league, which suits a bettor who wants a line set fairly.
A list of ten
Imagine ten Polish matches. About four of them end in a home win, three in a draw and three in an away win. Roughly five have both teams scoring, and almost one finishes 0-0. The most likely single score in any of them is 1-1.
The point is that nothing about a typical Polish list is surprising. If a list implies nine home wins, or no draws, it’s reflecting how the picks were chosen and not how the league behaves.
When the matches are played
Saturday carries 36.4% of the league’s matches, Sunday 31.4%, Friday 19.7% and Monday 9.6%. That’s an even spread by European standards. It means a Friday list and a Monday list can both include Polish matches.
How reliable are favourites?
| Favourite’s chance at the price | Matches | Favourite won |
|---|---|---|
| Under 45% | 867 | 37.0% |
| 45% to 55% | 537 | 49.7% |
| 55% to 65% | 251 | 59.8% |
| 65% or more | 100 | 72.0% |
Prices were close to right. Favourites at 55% to 65% won 59.8% and at 65% or more 72.0%, a little below the 77% of European favourites at that price. With only 100 matches in the top band, don’t lean on it.
Corners and cards
We don’t have corner or card figures for Poland. The results file has goals and prices only. If you bet on those lines, use the general rules on our corner and card pages and check the referee.
Five rules for Polish tips
- Expect the draw. 27.4% overall, and 1-1 is the commonest score.
- Don’t pay for goals. Over 2.5 starts below 50%.
- Treat BTTS as a fair line. It lands a little more than half the time.
- Keep the cover on the home side. 1X lands 71.2%.
- Leave out unmeasured lines. We have no corners or cards.
Common mistakes
The first is assuming a high-scoring league because it’s in Europe. Polish matches average 2.65 goals.
The second is ignoring 1-1. It’s more than one match in eight.
The third is trusting one season’s draw rate. It ran from 25.2% to 30.4%.

Tips are estimates and not promises. You must be 18 or over to bet, and a stake should be money you can afford to lose.
