Super Lig: The Big Three and Home Bookings

The Turkish Super Lig is one of the more distinctive leagues to bet on. It has a long-running two-club title race, a bigger home advantage than most, a high BTTS rate and a card count that sits well above the European average. The table below holds the league’s tips from an outside prediction provider, shown as published.

The figures use about 1,720 Super Lig matches from 2021/22 to 2025/26.

The numbers in one place

Measure Super Lig
Goals a match 2.85
Over 2.5 54.2%
Both teams scored 56.4%
Home win 45.8%
Draw 25.2%
Yellow cards a match 4.48
Match with a red card 19.7%
Corners a match 9.58

Goals and BTTS

BTTS landed in 56.4% of matches, the fourth highest of the 18 leagues, behind the Bundesliga, the second division in Germany and the Eredivisie. By season it ran 58%, 53%, 55%, 56% and 55%, a narrow band. Goals were also above average at 2.85 a match, and over 2.5 landed in 54.2%.

Home teams failed to score in 21.4% of matches and away teams in 30.1%. That separation is typical.

A big home advantage

Home teams won 45.8% of matches, only slightly behind the Scottish Premiership (46.0%) and ahead of every other league. The covers show it: home win or draw (1X) landed 70.5% of the time, while away win or draw (X2) landed 54.2%, one of the lowest in the data. Either side winning (12) landed 75.3%.

Cards

Yellow cards averaged 4.48 a match. Over 3.5 landed in 63.4% of matches, over 4.5 in 46.1% and over 5.5 in 30.8%.

A red card appeared in 19.7% of matches. It takes 5.66 fouls to earn a yellow, and there are 25.4 fouls a match.

That’s a lot more than England (3.79) and the Netherlands (2.99), and less than Portugal (5.30) or Greece (5.06). A card line that works for the Premier League needs raising for Turkey.

Shots

Turkish teams had 8.92 shots on target a match, and 31.9% of them became goals, a little above the 18-league average of 31.6%. The side with more shots on target won 60.0% of matches, drew 24.7% and lost 15.3%.

Away teams are on the wrong end of that: 29.0% of matches ended in an away win.

Corners

Corners are near the average. Matches had 9.58, with over 9.5 landing in 48.8% and over 10.5 in 36.8%. Home teams took 54.7% of them.

First halves and turnarounds

The break was level in 39.5% of matches, with home teams ahead in 35.5% and away teams in 25.0%. First halves averaged 1.27 goals. The most common half-time/full-time results were a home lead and win (27.5%), an away lead and win (16.7%) and level then home win (15.3%).

Turnarounds happened in 5.88% of matches, about one in seventeen, the third highest rate of the 18 leagues behind the Premier League and the Scottish Premiership.

The title race

Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe have dominated the table. In 2024/25 Galatasaray finished top with 95 points and 91 goals, 11 ahead of Fenerbahçe on 84. The next club, Samsunspor, was on 64, 20 points behind the second.

In 2025/26 Galatasaray finished on 77 and Fenerbahçe on 74, with Trabzonspor third on 69. The tables come from the results in our data.

Galatasaray also draw rarely. They drew only 14.8% of their 182 matches in the data, one of the lowest rates for any team with 150 or more games. When they play, the result tends to be a win or a loss.

Five rules for Turkish tips

  1. Respect the home side. 45.8% home wins and a 1X cover that lands 70.5%.
  2. Lean on BTTS. It starts above 56%.
  3. Check the card line. The average is 4.48, so low lines are easy and high ones aren’t.
  4. Don’t expect many draws from the big two. Galatasaray drew 14.8%.
  5. Watch late turnarounds. The league has one of the highest rates.

Common mistakes

The first is treating the title race as a two-team league in every match. The other sixteen clubs play each other too, and 45.8% of home matches go to the home side regardless.

The second is using European card averages. The Super Lig is a third of a card above the 18-league average of 4.14.

The third is ignoring the away side’s problem scoring. It fails to score in nearly one match in three.

Tips are estimates, not promises. You must be 18 or over to bet, and a stake should be money you can afford to lose.
